Palpa’s Bus Accident: 6 women from the same village died, 18 others injured

KATHMANDU: Six people were killed in a passenger bus accident in Palpa’s Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality-8 Khusarne.
Last night, a passenger bus carrying passengers from Saljhandi in Rupandehi to Khusarne crashed near Dharadi Gaira near Madhuban Tariphant at 9:30 p.m..
Rem Bahadur Rana, Ward President of Ward No. 8, informed that 6 women of Khusarne village died in the accident of bus No. G1K 4977. According to him, Khemkumari Rana, Nirmala Ghimire, Sura Ghimire, Kamala Khatri, Guni Gaha and Dankumari Khatri of Khusarne village died in the accident. All the deceased are from Khursane village.
The bus fell down the hill about 60 meters from the road. The rescue operation was continued by the police and residents of Palpa and Rupandehi.
Ward Chair Rana stated that 18 more people were injured in the accident and were transported to Lumbini State Hospital Butwal. The bus accident occurred beneath the Saljhandi Dhorpatan road in Rupandehi.
