‘Gachchami’ at Kunja Theater (photos included)
The contribution made by Shakyamuni Buddha's family to the creation of Buddha is also depicted in the play.

KATHMANDU: Drama ‘Gachchami’ is being staged at Kunja Theater in Thapa Gaun of Aarohan Gurukul.
The drama was created using various Buddha-related books. Among them, creator and director Sunil Pokharel says that the drama ‘Gachchami’ has been prepared on the basis of Punya Prasad Prasai’s book ‘Gautam Buddha’.
The play tells the story of Shakyamuni prince Siddhartha Gautama, who was born in Lumbini and left the kingdom, palace, and family at the age of 29, and returned to Lumbini after attaining enlightenment in Bodh Gaya.
The contribution made by Shakyamuni Buddha’s family to the creation of Buddha is also depicted in the play.
‘Gachchami’ starring Sunita Bajgai, Raj Neupane, Subas Timalsina, Rajendra Kattel, Saujan Limbu and others is co-directed by Birendra Hamal.
The play, which began on Dec 27, will be performed on a regular basis until Saturday, Jan 7.
