KATHMANDU: Local levels in the district have begun closing down schools to avoid growing cold.
The district’s nine local levels issued a notice to close schools for four to eight days, citing the frigid weather since Monday morning.
Jaleshwor Municipality, as well as Pipara and Samsi Rural Municipalities, have decided to close schools for a week beginning today.
Similarly, the municipalities of Matihani, Bhangaha, Loharpatti, Aurahi, and Balawa, as well as Sonama Rural Municipality, announced that schools would be closed for four days.
Earlier on Sunday, Manrashishwa and Ramgopalpur shut down the schools for five days.
Eleven of the fifteen local levels have issued notices announcing the winter vacation.
The notices issued by the local levels stated that they made the decision to close schools due to the cold wave.
Despite the fact that four local levels have not decided to close the school, the number of students attending classes has significantly decreased.
According to locals, the district’s central and southern belts have been affected by a cold wave and fog.
