KATHMANDU: Norvic International Hospital has started a kidney transplant service.
The hospital, which has been providing international-level health services for the past 30 years, has also begun kidney transplant services.
This information was provided by Chief Executive Officer Ajay Kumar Mishra during a press conference on Monday.
So far, he claims that two people’s kidneys have been successfully transplanted. According to the hospital, a kidney donated by his 55-year-old wife was successfully transplanted into a 66-year-old man undergoing kidney failure treatment. Similarly, a kidney donated by his 30-year-old daughter was successfully transplanted into a 54-year-old man.
According to the hospital, this service will be expanded in the coming days.
A team of experts and consultants led by Dr. Rakesh Burma and Dr. RK Aggarwal, expert doctors of Norvic Hospital, has been providing kidney transplant services.
The first of the two successful kidney transplants, according to the hospital, was somewhat complicated. For the first time, a patient undergoing a kidney transplant in Norvic experienced complications such as heart artery problems. Despite their complexity, transplants have been successfully performed in Norvic due to the easy availability of standard treatment services for all types of health problems.
As it is a multispecialty hospital, solutions to other health problems before and after kidney transplantation will be available under one roof, and the risks associated with transplantation in such facilities will be reduced.
Norvic International Hospital has also advanced the process of obtaining permission to expand liver transplant services as a result of this.
