PM Prachanda held a meeting with commissioners (photos included)

KATHMANDU: Prachanda, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, met with Election Commission officials.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, he met with commission officials at Singha Durbar on Monday morning.

Although the constitution states that the election of the president and vice president should take place one month before the end of the term of office, the election commission is perplexed as there is no clear provision on how the new president and vice president can take the oath of office while the old president and vice president are still in office. The Prime Minister was briefed on the situation.

The discussion is also said to be related to the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections on Nov 20. Prachanda met with commission officials for the first time after becoming Prime Minister.
