KATHMANDU: Dilli Chaudhary has been elected as the leader of the Lumbini State Congress Parliamentary Party (PP).

Chaudhary of the establishment party was unanimously elected as the leader of the parliamentary party.

Chaudhary, who was elected to the State Assembly for the second time from Dang Constituency No. 3 (1), is currently the Minister of Tourism, Rural and Urban Development. Four members of the Congress parliamentary party were vying for the party’s leadership.

The parliamentary party’s leaders were Chaudhary, Raju Khanal, Abdul Razzaq, and Bir Bahadur Rana, but Dilli Bahadur was elected unanimously.

Congress holds 27 of the 87 seats in the Lumbini State Assembly, 17 directly and 10 proportionally.
