State 1 Chief calls parties to stake claim to form government

BIRATNAGAR: Chief of State 1, Parshuram Khapung, has called on the parties representing in the State Assembly (SA) to stake claim for the formation of the state government, in accordance with Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
The State Chief called on the parties to stake the claim for forming the government with the support of two or more than two parties representing in the State Assembly as per sub-Article 2 of Article 168 since no single party has a clear majority in the State Assembly to form the government.

The CPN (UML) has 40 members, the Nepali Congress (NC) 29, the CPN (Maoist Centre) 13, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) six, CPN (Unified Socialist) four and the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) one member in the State Assembly.
The support of 47 members in the 93-member State Assembly is required to form the government in this state.
