KATHMANDU: Before the vote of confidence in Parliament, the government intends to replace the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.

There are two posts of secretaries in the Ministry of Finance, Finance and Revenue.

According to sources in Minister Paudel’s Secretariat, Finance Secretary Krishnahari Pushkar is willing to be replaced before the vote of confidence.

However, before taking the vote of confidence, the alliance parties discussed and agreed on the transfer of the secretary.

It is understood that the government is prepared to change the secretary, even if it is by changing the responsibilities from within the Ministry of Finance, if there is no agreement on the alliance.

Pushkar’s replacements include current Revenue Secretary Rameshwar Dangal, Commerce Secretary Toyam Raya, Communication Secretary Baikuntha Aryal, Kebal Bhandari, and others.

According to sources, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel plans to assemble a new and capable team to take on the task of reviving the economy. It is expected that he will appoint a secretary with a financial background to the Ministry of Finance.

Pushkar was appointed as Finance Secretary by Finance Minister Janardan Sharma.
