POKHARA: Smart street lights have been installed in the streets of Pokhara.

High-mass lighting is installed in the chowks, while street lighting is installed along the road’s shore.

In collaboration with the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality and the Nepal Electricity Authority, 23 high-masted lights are being installed on 16-meter-high poles at Pokhara’s 23 major intersections.

According to the metropolitan, 8 lights have been installed thus far. 1,624 street lights will be installed on 50 kilometers of main roads within the metropolitan.

There will be 1,104 energy-efficient 90-watt and 520 120-watt smart lights installed. So far, 171 lights have been installed, according to Mayor Dhanraj Acharya.

He claims that the installation of the lights will be completed by February. The Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality’s Dhanraj Acharya and Kulman Ghising, the authority’s executive director, jointly inaugurated the high mast and street lights installed in the Biruta area.

Remote control was used to light highmasds and street lights in Biruta, Lakeside, and other locations. A lamp that uses less energy but produces more light has been installed.

Pokhara’s nighttime beauty will be enhanced by street lights, which will make nighttime road travel safer and enhance street and urban beauty.

The Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality has agreed to cover the cost of street lighting.
