KATHMANDU: The Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Tournament will begin on March 3.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and the ‘A’ Division Club agreed on Thursday that the league will begin on the March 3.

The league will be played in a double round robin format.

On Thursday, ANFA called a meeting of the 14 clubs in the ‘A’ division to determine the date of the league.

ANFA and the club agreed to hold the league on Thursday at a meeting last week.

ANFA had previously decided to hold the top division league beginning on Jan 12.

However, the clubs refused to play the league on the specified date, claiming that they had not been reimbursed for their preparation costs.

This time, the league winner will receive Rs 75 lakh, the second team Rs 50 lakh, and the third team Rs 25 lakh.

The cash prize for the Fair Play Award has been increased to three lakh rupees.

The most valuable player will receive Rs 3 lakh, the highest scorer and best goalkeeper will each receive Rs 2 lakh, and the most promising player will receive Rs 150,000.

The winning club of each match will receive Rs 50,000 as match money. The amount will be divided equally between the two clubs that are tied. The man of the match of every match will get 10,000 rupees.
