KATHMANDU: Independent MP Prabhu Sah, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Rautahat 3, has formed a new political party.
Sah announced the formation of the Aam Janata Party at a press conference at Kathmandu’s Crystal Party Palace on Thursday.
Shah, who began his political career with the Maoist party, left the CPN-UML and became an independent.
Kiran Sah, the victorious independent candidate from Rautahat Constituency No. 2, has also joined his party. In his party, a 51-member central ad hoc committee has been formed.
He stated that the independent candidate victory campaign had been renamed Aam Janata Party. A meeting of the party’s ad hoc committee was also held on Thursday.

He has also backed Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s government. Sah formed his own party after none of the existing ones accommodated him.
