Metropolitan’s letter to Home Minister Rabi requesting removal of squatters
The municipality has requested in the letter that security personnel be provided to remove the unauthorized structures on the banks of the Bagmati River in Thapathali.

KATHMANDFU: Balendra Sah, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has written a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs requesting that the squatters be removed from Thapathali.
Basanta Adhikari, the city’s chief administrative officer, has written to the ministry, requesting that the district administration office and security agencies provide the necessary instructions and coordination.
The municipality has requested in the letter that security personnel be provided to remove the unauthorized structures on the banks of the Bagmati River in Thapathali.
The letter states, ‘It is not possible to proceed with the protection and beautification of the area by removing the structure in a disorganized and unauthorized manner on the Bagmati shore,’ as there is a program to immediately begin beautification work by removing the structure of Thapathali, and there is a request for necessary support and coordination.’
