KATHMANDU: The appeal filed by Sandeep Lamichhane, the former national cricket team captain who is held in pre-trial detention on a charge of raping a minor, could not be heard in the High Court today (Thursday).

Sandeep’s case was number five in the bench of Patan High Court Judges Subash Paudel and Kiran Kumar Pokharel.

However, Sandeep’s case is still on the ‘unseen’ list.

Sandeep appealed to the High Court against the Kathmandu District Court’s order to keep him in custody pending trial.

A complaint was filed against Sandeep on Sept 6 last year for raping a minor girl in a cowshed surrounded by the police.

Sandeep was detained on Sept 8 at Tribhuvan International Airport after the Kathmandu District Court issued an arrest warrant on Oct 6.
