KATHMANDU: Prabhu Sah, an independent MP, is preparing to launch a new political party.
He is holding a press conference today in Kathmandu to publicize it.
A press conference has been scheduled for today at 3 p.m. at the Crystal Palace in Bijulibazar. ‘We are having informal discussions to prepare for the formation of the party,’ said leader Sah to Online Khabar. We will publish a summary of it today.’
Shah went underground in 2055 after joining the then-CPN (Maoist).
He was elected to the Maoist party’s Central Committee. In 2063, he remained a member of the Interim Parliament.
Following the country’s transition to a federal system, the Maoist center appointed Shah as chairperson of its Madhesh State.
He was elected to the Constituent Assembly from Rautahat 3 in both 2064 and 2070. After the Constituent Assembly promulgated the Federal Democratic Republic’s constitution, he scored a ‘hat-trick’ in the election game by defeating Rautahat (3).
Sah, who became the Minister of Law and Land Reforms in 2068 and 2069 respectively, was given the leadership of the Ministry of Urban Development in 2073.
