Sandeep’s appearance in High Court today
Previously, the appearance was scheduled for Dec 22.

KATHMANDU: Sandeep Lamichhane, a cricketer, is scheduled to appear in court today in an appeal against the district court’s order to keep him in jail in the interim.
Saroj Krishna Ghimire, his lawyer, informed that his appearance in the High Court Patan has been scheduled for today.
Previously, the appearance was scheduled for Dec 22. The hearing was postponed, however, as the senior advocates were attending the Supreme Bar session.
The legal professional went to the High Court with two copies of the victim’s birth certificate. In the petition filed in the High Court, it is claimed that the girl is over the age of 18.
Furthermore, it has been claimed that nothing was done, whether by force or consent. Sandeep’s lawyers are hopeful that the proof of birth registration will allow him to be released from jail.
Sandeep may be released on bail at today’s hearing, or the district court’s order may be upheld, and it may be decided that he will remain in jail. On October 20, police arrested Sandeep at Tribhuvan International Airport and took him into custody for further investigation.
