KATHMANDU: ‘Gyan Ko Chihan’ is currently being performed at Battisputali’s Shilpee Theatre.
This play, co-produced by Kalasi Productions and the ANNFSU (Revolutionary) Educational Department, has been on stage since Dec 28.
The play ‘Gyan Ko Chihan,’ written in the imagination of student leader Pancha Singh by Purna Bahadur Gandharva, Naresh Regmi, and Ashish Ghimire, has succeeded in portraying the dirty student politics in Nepal’s universities and campuses, as well as their impact on the education sector.
This play appears to have sparked a preliminary debate about reviving our current education system, which is deteriorating. The play attempted to creatively bring various issues in the education sector into discussion.
The play ‘Gyan Ko Chihan,’ directed by Sangeet Sapkota, attempts to cover the struggle between the good and bad sides that emerged in the student movement.
Even in this day and age, the play has sparked a debate about how to provide quality education to reformed subjects through educational revolution, while our education system remains stagnant.
The play starring Shrawan Singh Rana Magar, Sundar Dhital, Sanjit Pratap Malla, Saubhagya Singh Rai (Shobha) and others will be staged at Shilpee Theatre till the Jan 14.
