Senior member of Gandaki Basyal took oath

KATHMANDU: Mitralal Basyal, senior member of the Gandaki State Assembly, took the oath of office today.

The oath was administered by State Chief Prithvi Man Gurung.

Basyal, 65, is a UML leader who was elected from Parbat (B). Basyal will now administer the oath of office to the remaining 59 MPs tomorrow.

According to the constitution, the senior parliamentarian will be administered the oath by the head of state, and the same senior parliamentarian will administer the oath to other parliamentarians.

The parliament secretariat has also prepared an oath in the parliamentarians’ native language.
