KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister and Ministers will not accept the 15% salary increase announced in the government’s budget statement for the current fiscal year.
Salaries and allowances for employees were increased by 15% in the budget for fiscal year 079/80.
The increased salary allowance went into effect on July 17. Employees’ salaries will automatically increase, as will the salaries of officials and ministers.
However, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel announced on Monday that the Council of Ministers decided not to raise salaries for Council of Ministers members due to the current economic situation.
