Manakamana Cable Car closed indefinitely (notice included)

KATHMANDU: The Manakamana Cable Car has been closed indefinitely due to damage to the Cable Car panel (Thyristor Panel).

The company issued a notice stating that the panel was damaged due to a power supply problem.

Ujjwal Sherchan, station manager, stated that the panel has been experiencing issues since Sunday evening. Austrian Doppler technicians, he claims, have been called in for repairs.

The same company has only manufactured automobiles.

According to Sherchan, the service will be suspended until further notice. He claims that there is no immediate need to run only cars.
