KATHMANDU: Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane from the RSP has claimed the post of Deputy Prime Minister.
According to sources, he claimed to be the deputy prime minister during a meeting of the seven-party new power coalition.
‘Rabi is very likely to become Deputy Prime Minister,’ according to the source. The alliance has already decided to make him Vice Chairperson. However, we are awaiting an official decision.’
The 7 parties that supported Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as Prime Minister met at Parliament House in New Baneshwor on Tuesday.
The meeting decided that Narayan Kaji Shrestha would be appointed Deputy Prime Minister. Similarly, Bishnu Poudel of the CPN-UML is a candidate for Deputy Prime Minister.
In the meeting, the ministry share for the party going to the government will be discussed. CPN-UML, Maoist Center, RSP, RPP, Janata Samajwadi Party, Janamat Party and Nagarik Unmukti Party are participating in the meeting.
