KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Center Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda will take oath from the President this evening.

Sources say he will take the oath of office as Prime Minister wearing Daura Suruwal this time. Prachanda, who has previously served as Prime Minister twice, did not wear Daura Suruwal during the swearing-in ceremony. His secretariat informed that Prachanda has not worn Daura Surwal so far.

Sources says that two UML members, one Maoist, and one RSP member are ready to take the oath with Prachanda. Prachanda has prepared to form a small cabinet this evening after taking the Prime Minister’s oath.

Maoist officials have decided to appoint Narayan Kaji Shrestha as Deputy Prime Minister. He serves in the National Assembly. He is preparing to take the oath with Chairpersson Prachanda. The ministry has not yet made a decision. Vice Chairperson Bishnu Paudel will lead the CPN-UML into the government.

According to sources, he can manage the Finance Ministry alongside the Deputy Prime Minister. He is also preparing to take the oath of office alongside Prime Minister Prachanda.

According to UML sources, it was decided in a meeting with some officials at the residence of Chairperson KP Sharma Oli in Balkot that Bishnu Poudel will lead the government from UML.

The SP, led by chairperson Rabi Lamichhane, is also joining the government. Lamichhane will most likely share a working ministry with the Deputy Prime Minister. He also stated that an independent party leader, in addition to Chairperson Prachanda, could take the oath today.

RPP will not join the government. RPP Chairperson Rajendra Lingden stated that RPP not in hurry to join government but would support it. The Janamat Party of CK Raut is entering the government. The Janata Samajwadi Party has yet to decide whether or not to join the government.

The power alliance is meeting to resolve the issue in the parliament building in New Baneshwor. The meeting was attended by top leaders from the CPN-UML, Maoist Center, RSP, JSP, RPP, and other parties.
