Manandhar elected National President of Nepal Jaycees

Manandhar secured 595 votes while his closest contender Rabin Pokhrel got 297 votes in the election held for the post.

KATHMANDU: Bikash Manandhar has been elected the National President of Nepal Jaycees at its 49th general convention.

There were five candidates vying for the post, but Anil Bahadur Shahi, one of the candidates, failed to attend the ‘caucus programme’ and his candidacy was annulled.

Manandhar secured 595 votes while his closest contender Rabin Pokhrel got 297 votes in the election held for the post.

The remaining contenders were Suman Shrestha and Dipendra Niraula.

There were 1,250 voters.

Similarly, election was held for the four executive vice-president posts of Nepal Jaycees.

There were nine candidates for this post. Jeevan Bahadur Karki, Kumar Singh Sanwa Limbu, Rajani Thapa and Rashmi Basnet have been elected the executive vice-president.

Likewise, 19 persons were in the election fray for 12 vice-president posts. Bhim Bahadur Kunwar, Bir Bahadur Bhagat, Saroj Adhikari, Gurudev Poudel, Rajaram Gautam, Anup Sunuwar, Tej Prasad Uprety, Chiranjivi Sharma, Chandra Mani Bhusal, Sonu Shrestha, Radhika Bhusal and Swastika Acharya have been elected to the post of vice-president.

Election was held here on Saturday for a total 17 posts of Nepal Jaycees, including one president, four executive vice-presidents and 12 vice-presidents.
