KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leaders holding internal discussions ahead of the ruling coalition’s meeting to discuss the formation of the new government.

Top leaders in Congress have been holding internal discussions in order to present the party’s unified position at the power alliance meeting scheduled for 10 a.m. this morning.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has given political parties represented in the House of Representatives until the evening to form a government.

Congress wishes to maintain control of the government by retaining the President and Prime Minister.

However, Maoist Center Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that he should be appointed Prime Minister.

Since the issue of who will be prime minister has not been resolved, there has been bitterness within the ruling coalition. The meeting is expected to discuss who will be the minister and how to include the partner parties when the Congress leads the government.
