Charles taken to TIA to be deported to France

KATHMANDU: The government has deported Charles Sobhraj to France via Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

He will be flown to France via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight at 6 p.m., under the supervision of the Immigration Department.

Sobhraj was released from the Central Jail on Friday morning.

The Supreme Court (SC) ordered on Wednesday to release him from jail and send him to his home country within 15 days.

He will be sent to France on Friday (today), with the intention of returning him to his home country as soon as possible for security reasons.

Charles had requested that he be kept away from the media for security reasons.

Even when the media inquired, they were unable to obtain his photograph and response.
