POKHARA: Chairperson of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has said that he has gifted a unbreakable Tabla (pair of twin hand drums) to the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah.

He said this while speaking at the ongoing literature festival in Pokhara. In the program, journalist Akhand Bhandari said, ‘Why did you give a Tabla to a rap singer?’ After asking the question, he said this and that.

Oli, who was invited to talk outside of politics, said that he gifted a Tabla made of metal as the clay Tabla would break.

Oli said – ‘From what I knew, Balen Shah, that is, Balendra Shah, the elected chief of Kathmandu in the last local elections, he plays the Tabla. However, he had a clay Tabla, it broke when he shifted.

He didn’t have a Tabla, I had a metal Tabla, it didn’t break even when moved. That’s why I gave a gift of a strong, good quality Tabla, it won’t break when I move it.
