Bagmati CM Pandey resigning

KATHMANDU: Bagmati Chief Minister Rajendra Pandey has announced his resignation.
Pandey, who was elected to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Dhading Constituency 1 on Thursday, will resign today after taking the oath of office.
He was chastised for taking the oath while still serving as Chief Minister.
Pandey will resign once he arrives in Hetauda. According to reports, the office of Bagmati State’s state head has also been informed of Chief Minister Pandey’s resignation.
In the Constitution of Nepal, there is a provision for the Chief Minister to resign before the Head of State.
Furthermore, the constitution provides that if the position becomes vacant following the resignation of the Chief Minister, the same Council of Ministers will carry out the work until a new Provincial Council of Ministers is formed.
