Vietnam records 133 deaths from dengue fever this year
The number of infections grew five times and the number of fatalities increased 107 cases from the same period in 2021, the ministry said.

HANOI: Vietnam has reported about 354,282 cases of dengue fever infections including 133 deaths this year, its Ministry of Health said on Thursday.
The number of infections grew five times and the number of fatalities increased 107 cases from the same period in 2021, the ministry said.
During the 50th week of this year, which started from Dec. 12, a total of 7,350 dengue fever cases were recorded, down 24 percent from the previous week.
The number of hospitalizations reached 6,048, decreasing 25.3 percent against the previous week, said the ministry.
As cold weather conditions are unfavorable for the growth of mosquitoes, the number of dengue fever infections will decrease gradually in the coming time, it said.
The ministry suggested that people should not be complacent but adhere closely to the health ministry’s guidelines in dengue fever prevention and control.
