Argentina fan dies after fall from roof

AGENCY: Argentina’s World Cup celebrations have been marred by the death of a 24-year-old fan who fell through a roof while ‘jumping up and down’ celebrating their dramatic penalty shootout win over France on Tuesday.

Lionel Messi and the rest of Argentina’s players delivered the country’s first World Cup victory since 1986, and it prompted millions of people in Argentina to celebrate.

However, following the cancellation of Tuesday’s bus parade due to safety concerns about fans jumping onto the top of the bus with the players, the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health revealed that another fan died in hospital on Monday as a result of a head injury sustained while celebrating.
