Deuba elected as leader of NC parliamentary party

KATHMANDU: Sher Bahadur Deuba, the President of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party, was elected.

Deuba defeated Chief Minister Gagan Thapa, who had been nominated by Dr. Shekhar Koirala’s group.

According to election committee sources, Deuba secured 64 votes, while Gagan secured only 25 votes and was defeated.

Deuba won by 39 votes over Gagan.
