1.5 million loss due to setting fire to own house

KATHMANDU: A mentally unstable man set fire to his own house, resulting in a loss of more than 1.5 million rupees in Sarlahi’s Haripur Municipality.

Deepak Neupane, son of Kumbha Maya Baral Neupane of Haripur-2 Sano Jagatpur in the middle of the district, set fire to his house on Monday night.

Inspector Bijay Kunwar, Police Spokesperson for the Sarlahi District Police Office, stated that the two-story brick and wood house was completely destroyed.

He claimed that the fire destroyed the house, including food, clothes, dishes, and cash, causing a loss of more than 1.5 million rupees.

According to Police Inspector Kunwar, an investigation into the fire is underway. The fire was brought under control with the assistance of locals, police, and the Hariwan Municipality’s fire department.
