There are 20 bridges on the Narayangadh-Muglin road section. Five of them have been built. The remaining bridges are under construction. Kiran Karki, Project Manager of Nagadhunga Muglin Road Project West Section (Narayangadh-Muglin) informed that the work has been advanced so that 10 bridges can be built by next Ashar (June/July). An agreement was made to complete the bridge in 33 months on Chait 10, 2076 (23 March , 2020). The contract period is ending on Dec 24.
The bridge is going to be built with the help of World Bank loan. He says that work is underway to complete 13 bridges by Ashar (June/July). According to Karki, among them, Seti Dobhan, Dumre, Tope, Long Sand and Khare two bridges will be completed within three months.
He informed that Tuin and Jugedi bridges will take some more time. Along with the road expansion, a new bridge is going to be constructed in the places where there are narrow bridges.
Currently, the road is 9 to 11 meters wide. The bridge has been divided into two parts and the contract has been awarded. Package-1 has seven bridges from Muglin to Khare, Chimpanji, Tuin, Kali, Tope, Nyamsi and Riddhikhola. Package-2 has eight bridges including Jugedi, Khare, Khor, Lamobalua, Bhorle, Dumre, Simaltal and Setidovan.
The total contract amount of package-1 is Rs 67 crore 99 lakh. The total contract amount of the second package is 595 million. The bridge is going to be built with the help of the World Bank. Anak Construction is doing both the contracts.
The space for vehicles on the bridge will be 7.5 meters wide. On both sides, a 1.5 meter wide footpath and 25 cm railings have been set aside. Karki says that the road had to be closed as the steep hill had to be cut at the place where the bridge was to be built.
