Request for more facilities at Surkhet Airport
Even when the weather is adverse and the flight is delayed, IFR technology makes it possible to fly.
KATHMANDU: Buddha Air has always prioritized direct flights from Surkhet to the federal capital Kathmandu. Flights were initially operated from small aircrafts, and later flights were continued from ATR-42 aircrafts.
It should be remembered that the fare was somewhat easier and simpler after the operation of ATR-42 aircraft.
Buddha Air has been flying ATR-72 aircraft to Surkhet, the capital of Karnali State, under the supervision and support of the Civil Aviation Authority since Dec 16.
The fare has also become easier and simpler when flying from a large ship. In response to passenger demand, Buddha Air has announced that it will begin another flight on Dec 21.
Two flights per day will make it easier for passengers to complete their work on the same day.
Surkhet Airport employs VFR technology. Flight cancellation is also a possibility when the weather is bad and the flight is delayed.
As a result, Surkhet, like other airports in the country, will be easy to fly if IFR technology is installed. Even in low visibility, IFR technology can be used to fly.
If IFR technology is connected, it will be more convenient for passengers to spend their time because they will be able to fly in the evening and at night.
The Civil Aviation Authority is working hard to make IFR technology and Surkhet airport more passenger-friendly, and Buddha Air has sincerely requested that the state and federal governments also play an active role in this.
