Samsung inaugurates its Global CSR program Samsung Innovation campus at TU Institute of Engineering
Under the program, Samsung will train youth in Nepal on future tech skills such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data and Coding & Programming, contributing to the development of a strong technology and innovation ecosystem in Nepal.
KATHMANDU: Samsung, one of the world’s leading consumer electronics and smartphones brands, has inaugurated its global CSR program Samsung Innovation Campus at the Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering.
Under the program, Samsung will train youth in Nepal on future tech skills such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data and Coding & Programming, contributing to the development of a strong technology and innovation ecosystem in Nepal.
Samsung Innovation Campus was inaugurated by Mr. Devendra Paudel, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Science & Technology, Government of Nepal, Mr. Sung June Park, Head, Nepal Office, Samsung Southwest Asia, Mr. Park Chong-Suk, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal, Dr. Shiva Lal Bhusal, Rector, Tribhuvan University and Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Professor & Dean, Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering at a ceremony held inside the Pulchowk Campus of the institute.
As part of the program, youth will be provided real job skills and in-demand tech skills that will improve their digital literacy, learning abilities, creativity and employability.

The courses that are part of Samsung Innovation Campus – Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Coding & Programming and Internet of Things – will be taught at the Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University
Institute of Engineering. The prerequisites to be selected for the courses include knowledge of algorithms, data structures and programming.

Along with such technological training, the program also offers soft skills training to enhance students’ employability and ability to bring their knowledge to life. It also nurtures problem-solving capabilities that will enable students to become innovative thinkers.
As part of the courses offered under Samsung Innovation Campus at Institute of Engineering, students will also undergo a practical project component. In this, students will be challenged to present projects of social significance in which AI, Big Data, Coding & Programming and IoT play a role.
Launched in 2019, Samsung Innovation Campus, which is part of Samsung’s global CSR vision of “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People”, trains students and unemployed youth to be experienced in key technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, nurturing them for the next generation workforce.
