KATHMANDU: A massive fire broke out in a West Bengal slum area on Wednesday, destroying at least 50 houses.
According to reports, the incident took place in ward number 17 of Habra Municipality in North 24 Paraganas district.
Firefighters rushed to the scene, and the blaze have been extinguished.
An administration team was dispatched to the scene as soon as the incident was reported.
The fire was brought under control with the assistance of the locals.
Property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed in the incident.
Authorities had yet to determine the cause of the incident, according to reports.
