KATHMANDU: Boudhanath Mahachaitya, listed in the World Heritage List, is the largest of the four Mahachaityas in the valley.

Boudhanath Mahachaitya is also known as Khasti in Nepalese. The hemisphere of Boudhanath Stupa, which is believed to be on the ancient road to Tibet, hemisphere is 36 meters. Jyjima Dechog is thought to have built this stupa.

At various times and in different texts, Boudhanath Chaitya is referred to as Khasti, Khasuti, and Khasor.

In Tibetan, this Mahachaitya is known as Yambu Chorten Khasyor.

Boudhanath, the center of Tibetan, Newa, Tamang, and Sherpa faith, is worshiped equally by Hindus.
