France advanced to WC final again after beating Morocco

KATHMANDU: France has qualified for the FIFA World Cup finals for the second time in a row.

France confirmed their meeting with Argentina in the title match after defeating Morocco 2-0 in the semi-finals on Wednesday at Al Bayt Stadium.

France won thanks to goals from Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani.

France took the lead at the start of the game and added another goal in the second half. In the fourth minute of the game, Hernandez gave France the lead. France doubled its lead in the 79th minute of the second half. Randal Kolo Muani scored in less than a minute after coming off the bench.

France will now face Argentina on Sunday night to defend their title. Both these teams have lost one game each in the ongoing World Cup.

In the first match of the group stage, Argentina was defeated by Saudi Arabia. In the last match of the group stage, France was defeated by Tunisia.

France defeated Poland in the last 16, while Argentina defeated Australia. In the quarter-finals, France defeated England. Argentina triumphed over the Netherlands. France, which won the World Cup for the first time in 1998 by defeating Brazil, won it again in 2018 by defeating Croatia.

Argentina won the World Cup for the first time in 1978 when they defeated the Netherlands.

In 1986, they added another title by defeating Germany. Argentina has reached the final twice but has yet to win the title. In both 1990 and 2014, they were defeated in the final by Germany. Argentina had previously reached the final of the first World Cup. Argentina will now compete in the World Cup final for the sixth time.
