‘I am very happy to end my journey by playing in the World Cup final,’ Messi said after the game. It’s actually quite pleasant.
What happened during the World Cup was extremely emotional. It was also wonderful to see how much the Argentine people enjoyed it. The next World Cup is still many years away. I don’t think I’ll be able to last that long. It’s fantastic to finish the World Cup on such a high note.’
Messi, 35, is playing in his fifth World Cup. Last year, he also won the Copa America. The World Cup final will now take place on Sunday, December 18. Before that, Morocco will face defending champion France in the second semi-final.
