KATHMANDU: Rastriya Janamorcha has objected to the government introducing an ordinance to amend the Criminal Procedure Code in order to release Nagarik Unmukti Party leader Resham Chaudhary.

Janamorcha has stated that using crimes or criminals to achieve political objectives will increase impunity, claiming that they are attempting to free Chaudhary in order to gain a majority in the formation of the new government.

In a statement issued today by Janamorcha Chairperson Chitra Bahadur KC, it is written, ‘We have drawn serious attention to the government’s recommendation to the President to bring an ordinance to change the Criminal Procedure Code to free Resham Chaudhary, who was involved in the Tikapur heinous murder case. ‘The government’s decision to bring an ordinance to support impunity with the aim of getting a majority to form the government is wrong.’
