Nearly 1 mln stimulant tablets seized in central Myanmar
Investigation showed that the stimulant tablets were to be transported to Yangon region from southern Shan state, it said.

YANGON: Myanmar’s authorities seized 0.95 million stimulant tablets worth over 1.4 billion kyats (0.66 million U.S. dollars) in the central region of Mandalay, the state-run media citing police sources reported on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police intercepted a Toyota Hiace vehicle near Kywe Dat Son village in Thazi township of Mandalay region at around 10:30 a.m. local time on Dec. 9, and confiscated the drugs.
Investigation showed that the stimulant tablets were to be transported to Yangon region from southern Shan state, it said.
The driver and another person accompanying him were charged under the country’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the media report.
Further investigations were underway, it added.
