KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center and Nagarik Unmukti Party have submitted the list to the Election Commission (EC) after rectifying it.
The EC had written to Nepali Congress (NC), the CPN Maoist Center, the Nagarik Unmukti Party, and the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) to correct the names on the closed list that had previously been submitted to the proportional system.
To correct the names of these parties and submit them, the EC issuing the letter on Sunday and set a deadline of 4 p.m. on Monday to correct the error.
JSP Nepal has also rectified and submitted the Madhesh State Assembly’s proportional list. The JSP got seven seats in the Madhesh state assembly on a proportional basis.
Similarly, the CPN-UML has responded to the EC, requesting that the list it has already sent be approved without being rectified.
According to Guru Wagle, the spokesperson for proportional elections, these parties discovered mistakes in the selection of names for the 220-member State Assembly, such as not clustering and misplacing the order of priorities.
