KATHMANDU: Shekhar Koirala, the leader of the Nepali Congress, has objected to the government’s decision to issue an ordinance freeing Resham Chaudhary.

Attempting to amend the law through an ordinance and pardon those convicted by the court, he claims, is a mockery of the rule of law, parliamentary system, political and democratic spirit.

He stated that no one has the right to bend the law for personal political gain, and that he can live without it tomorrow.
