Armed policeman killed in school bus collision

KATHMANDU: An armed policeman has died in a collision with a school bus in Kirtipur.

Subash Chandra Ratela, 29, was killed when a bus collided with him on the main road in front of the Armed Police Station in Kirtipur Municipality’s Ward No. 6.

Ratela was hit by Indian Modern School bus No. 1 Kah 1612 on its way from Balkhu to Chobhar while he was riding a motorcycle.

According to police, he died while receiving treatment at Vayodha Hospital.

Ratela, a resident of Jai Prithvi Bahadur Municipality Koteli (5) in Bajhang, was employed at the Armed Police Central Office in Halchowk.

Metropolitan Police Circle Kirtipur has arrested bus driver Manjit Singh.
