Two rights activists from Biratnagar honored

BIRATNAGAR: On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, two Biratnagar-based human rights activists were recognized and honored. Biratnagar celebrated the occasion with an unplanned program.
Among those honored are Binod Pokharel, coordinator of Maiti Nepal Biratnagar, and Pratikshya Basnet of Jagaran Nepal Biratnagar.
Pokharel, who was be honored, has spent a long time campaigning against human trafficking and trafficking in the border area.
Basnet has spent years advocating for women’s human rights. They were honored by the placement of dosalla (shawl).
The program was co-organized by National Human Rights, Biratnagar Metropolitan City, State 1 Office Biratnagar, Non-Governmental Organization Federation Morang, Human Rights Network Biratnagar, Human Rights Defenders Council State 1, and Women Human Rights Defenders Network.
Biratnagar Mayor Nagesh Koirala, INSEC, the Human Rights Commission, and other human rights organizations and individuals took part in the program.
