Action to be taken if ‘World Cup’ is shown in cinema hall: FDB

KATHMANDU: The Film Development Board (FDB) has warned that if World Cup football is shown in cinemas, action will be taken.
The board said that it has come to their attention that the World Cup is going to be telecasted at the same time as the show time of regular movie screenings.
According to the Board, some movie theaters will begin showing World Cup football on Dec 9, and the FDB has advised those theaters to show the film only under the conditions specified in the permission letter.
The board has sent a letter to district administration offices and the Nepal Film Association stating that if the hall is not operated in accordance with schedule 7 of the license granted to exhibit the film, legal action will be taken.
