KATHMANDU: The justification for the federalism currently practiced in Nepal, according to Netra Bikram Chand Biplav, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal, has ended.

On Friday, Biplav addressed an interview program in his home district of Kapilvastu and discussed federalism.

While speaking at the Reporters Club Nepal Lumbini State Office interview program, he stated that there is a need for proportional federalism of the people rather than the federalism currently practiced in Nepal.

“The results of the state and representative assembly elections held on Nov 20 have confirmed that the legitimacy of the current parties has also ended,” he said, “the country has reached a weak state due to the increasing economic crisis.”
