Secretary General Gautam in consultation on answering to SC
General Secretary Gautam gave a letter on Wednesday that JB Rana's suspension was lifted. The full meeting of the judges of the SC held immediately wrote a letter to the Secretary General saying that something should be clarified in the letter.
KATHMANDU: The General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Bharatraj Gautam, is engaged in discussions regarding the reply to the Supreme Court (SC) regarding the letter of suspension being lifted to the suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.
He is in consultation with the Secretary General, Secretary, Spokesperson etc. in his office.

The SC has mainly asked four questions. Regarding the impeachment proposal registered on 2078 Falfun 1 (13 Feb, 2022), a question has been asked to the Secretary General of the Parliament whether the continuation of the action on the report that was submitted to the House of Representatives by the General Impeachment Recommendation Committee or not.
It has been asked whether the impeachment proposal will be presented in the new House of Representatives (HoR) or not, whether the impeachment proposal became ineffective on the date of the end of the tenure of the then HoR or on the date of the election.
More seriously, it has been asked on the basis of which constitutional or legal provisions the General Secretary has said that the impeachment is ineffective when the newly elected House of Representatives is not starting work.
According to Parliament Secretariat sources, the responsible officials of the Parliament Secretariat are angry with the Secretary General Gautam that he did not consult them when he sent the letter. Some have refused even to give counseling.
