I lost as Upendra asked me to cast 4,000 votes in Surya symbol: Gachhadar

KATHMANDU: Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, the Nepali Congress leader and House of Representatives candidate from Sunsari Constituency No. 2, has blamed his defeat on Upendra Yadav.

He claimed that he was forced to concede defeat as Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairperson Upendra Yadav directed that 4,000 votes be cast directly in UML’s Surya election symbol.

He said that as of the electoral synergy between the JSP and the UML, Upendra forced me to vote for the UML.

Bhagwati Chaudhary of the UML won by defeating Gachhadar of that constituency.

According to Gachhadar, there is a risk of political instability because no one garnered a majority in the Nov 20 election.
