Strong dissatisfaction within the RSVP over proportional selection of MPs
The RSP had named those who received the most votes in the primary election last Ashoj (Sept/Oct)) to the House of Representatives' closed list.

KATHMANDU: Within the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), there is dissatisfaction with the proportional selection of MPs. The RSP, led by Rabi Lamichhane, has expressed displeasure with the proportional selection of MPs.
The RSP had named those who received the most votes in the primary election last Ashoj (Sept/Oct)) to the House of Representatives’ closed list.
However, those who received fewer votes in the primary election are now being protested because they are attempting to elect proportional MPs.
The Election Commission (EC) requested on Wednesday that parties send proportional MPs within three days. The names submitted by the parties on the closed list must be sent to the Commission in accordance with the cluster.
Those who received few votes in the primary election and whose names appear below in the order of the closed list have informed the party that a vigilance meeting against the party’s intention to elect proportional MPs will be held today at the central office in Bashundhara.
RSP has gained 7 seats directly and 13 seats through proportional representation. Since he received 10% of the Sadar votes, MPs should be assigned based on all clusters.
The RSP should send seven women MPs. Out of which 2 have won directly. Now 5 women have to be sent from proportional.
Four people should be sent from Khas Arya, three from Tribals, two from Dalits, two from Madheshi, one from Tharu, and one from Muslims.
