Impeachment against JB Rana is still active, will be discussed in Parliament: Spokesperson Karki
Minister Karki stated that the impeachment proposal against Chief Justice JB Rana is still alive while announcing the cabinet meeting's decision on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU: The impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana, according to Government Spokesperson and Communications Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, is still alive. He also stated that it will be discussed in the newly formed parliament following the election.
Minister Karki stated that the impeachment proposal against Chief Justice JB Rana is still alive while announcing the cabinet meeting’s decision on Wednesday.
He clarified that the impeachment motion against suspended Chief Justice JB Rana was debated in the House of Representatives, and a report on that debate was submitted.
After Bharatraj Gautam, the Secretary General of the Parliament Secretariat, gave a letter stating that the impeachment motion against JB Rana was ineffective, the question of whether the letter was constitutional or unconstitutional was raised, the spokesperson for the government, Karki, said that the impeachment is still in place and the next Parliament will finalize the impeachment against JB Rana.
