It is unlawful for Secretary General to send a letter to JB Rana: Bar

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Bar Association has stated that notifying suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana that the impeachment process is inactive is unconstitutional.
JB Rana is preparing to appear before the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday, after the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament, Bharatraj Gautam, gave a letter stating that the impeachment is no longer active.
The Nepal Bar Association has called an emergency meeting to discuss this.
The impeachment proposal is still pending in Parliament, and the Secretary General has stated that handing a letter in Parliament would be illegal.
